Holiday Magic: Three Students Honored with a Special Celebration at A Gift for Teaching

This holiday season, A Gift for Teaching celebrated three exceptional students during the annual Grant a Wish event—a cherished tradition recognizing young leaders for their perseverance, leadership, and academic achievements.

Meet our honorees: Tamsin (3rd Grade) from Andover Elementary, Tommie (8th Grade) from Pershing School, and Estrella (12th Grade) from BETA. Nominated by their teachers, these students inspired us with their hard work and character, earning a day filled with surprises, recognition, and cheer.

A Magical Shopping Spree

Our Free Teacher Supply Store transformed into a winter wonderland, where Tamsin, Tommie, and Estrella enjoyed a five-minute shopping spree, filling carts with school supplies, gifts for loved ones, and holiday treats.

“It’s an honor to shine a light on these incredible students,” said Jane Thompson, president of A Gift for Teaching. “Thanks to our community partners and volunteers, this celebration is filled with joy and the promise of brighter futures.”

A Day of Generosity

Thanks to our amazing partners, the students also received a $100 Publix gift card, goodie baskets, a $50 Mastercard gift card, tickets to Universal Orlando, and more—including a laptop and bike.
